The plastics industry has a very unique manufacturing process and thereby requires a unique approach to the way it prices it's products. Products consist mostly of plastic materials combined with various packaging items. Added to this are standard freight charges for delivery. This may sound simple on the surface, but the structure of the plastic material varies greatly from job to job. Costs can fluctuate greatly between two similar looking products.  In order to accurately predict these costs of orders, our client requested a costing model which closely resembled their manufacturing process. Due to our extensive involvement with the plastics industry, we developed a costing model which their sales agents were able to take away to their client's (on laptop's) and provide an accurate costing for a client 'on the spot'.  The costing report included detailed resin breakdown of each layer showing density values and costs per kg/roll. |
